From quarry to raw mill

Herzog presents a series of publications highlighting HERZOG´s competence in automated quality control systems for the cement industry. In the present application note, we outline the processing of raw materials and demonstrate the relevance of reliable and representative sampling.

The analysis of raw meal is perhaps the most critical task of a quality control lab in a cement plant. Here, we discuss the pros of cons of sample preparation and XRF analysis by using either pressed pellets or borate fusion techniques. The application note is concluded with an introduction of HERZOG´s novel raw mix blending software which is based on state of the art model prediction control algorithms.
