The production of milk powder is a significantly growing worldwide market. Here, we present a sample preparation method for automatic pelletizing of milk powder into steel rings for analysis by X- ray fluorescence spectrometry. We show that the use of the automatic HERZOG pelletizer HP-PA results in excellent repeatability of the chemical analysis without cross-contamination between samples.
