Induction fusion is a highly efficient approach of glass bead preparation for XRF analysis. HERZOG recently introduced the new fully-automatic crucible calibration for further enhancement of temperature control during the fusion process.

In this application note, we show that the patent-pending method of crucible calibration leads to a pinpoint adjustment of the target temperature. In the temperature range between 1050- 1100°C, the mean deviation from the target temperature was less than 2°C at a very low variability of measured values. These results underline the beneficial impact of crucible calibration on temperature accuracy and precision for even better analysis results.
