Optimal sample preparation for combustion analysis
The HUST-AUT is a punching machine for preparation of punched pieces for determination of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur by combustion analysis. Up to four punched pieces with a weight of approximately 1 g (depending on sample thickness) can be produced simultaneously. The HUST-AUT has been specially designed for integration into a fully automatic System.
Connection to different milling machines
The samples for the HUST-AUT can have different sources. On the one hand, double-thickness samples from the HS-F 1000 can be entered into the HUST-AUT by robot. If desired, the tongues can be milled from both sides in the HS-F 1000 to remove the scale layer.
The cutting and milling machine HS-CF can be used for preparation of cylindrical and conical samples. In the HS-CF a disc sample is produced which is directly transported to the HUST-AUT using a chain belt.
Automatic transport of punched pieces
In the HUST-AUT, the punched pieces can be transported pneumatically to a turntable magazine. Here, the operator removes the samples, manually processes them for analysis, and enters them into the instrument.
Alternatively, the punched pieces can be transported pneumatically from the HUST-AUT to the CSNLab. The CSNLab covers the complete process of sample preparation from the automatic receiving of the sample up to the transfer of the preheated crucible containing the weighed sample and additives to the analyzer.
After punching in the HUST-AUT, the punched parts can be transported pneumatically via a diverter system to different destinations (magazine or CSNLab). This allows the samples to be separated fully automatically, e.g. for different analysis methods. In addition, redundancy can be established if an analysis unit should fail.
Various options
According to the analytical requirements the HUST-AUT can be supplied with various options. The HUST-AUT can be equipped with a sand blasting device for scale layer removing and surface cleaning. For punching of high-strength steel the sample or sample tongue can be heated by high-frequency induction. For cooling a water-cooling module is available.
Safety
The machine is noise-insulated and especially designed for low-noise operation. Specific safety precautions allow the safe operation of the machine.
Design options:
- Sandblasting
- Water cooling
