HERZOG offers various systems for the automatic extraction of liquid from powder samples. On the one hand, this process is used for technical drying so that the sample can subsequently be further processed and analyzed. On the other hand, the drying process can also be applied to determine the sample moisture. HERZOG has developed systems that are suitable for use both in the laboratory and in the plant near the sampling point. Depending on the sample material and application, we offer methods for convection drying or radiation drying using infrared or microwave radiation.
Before the technical drying of very moist or sludge samples, the sample can be mechanically dewatered to save time and energy. HERZOG offers special machines for pressing and filtering, e.g., flotation samples. For drying in the plant, belt drying systems can also be used, which receive the material after sampling and send it to the laboratory after drying. The systems are designed for fully automatic operation and ensure highly efficient sample preparation with minimal contamination.
Various methods are available for moisture determination. Convection drying at 105 °C is used to determine the moisture content of ores in accordance with ISO 3087. The furnaces are loaded and unloaded by a robot. The special blade technology of the oven doors ensures a constant oven temperature and thus an undisturbed drying process. For other processes, the sample weight can be measured continuously, e.g., during the drying process in the microwave to determine the moisture content. Would you like to find out more?
