HN-FF: Milling machine for non-ferrous samples

The HN-FF is the standard for fully automatic sample preparation of non-ferrous samples. In addition to its extremely compact design, the HN-FF is characterized by its high degree of precision, efficiency, safety and ease of operation. With its many options, the HN-FF is suitable for a wide range of applications and materials.

Input terminal for samples

HERZOG offers numerous options for registering and loading production samples into the MetalLab. For example, samples can be registered via a selection menu on the HMI panel or via a barcode reader. Depending on the system configuration, separate input lines are available for samples with normal and high priority.

Spiral magazine for production samples

A spiral magazine with space for approx. 100 samples is available for the input of sample batches. Alternative input options include a chain magazine for 20 samples and a turntable magazine for eight samples. The magazines allow a large number of samples to be processed without operator intervention.

Magazines for reference samples

The magazines for reference, monitor and type samples are designed in such a way that a wide range of sample diameters can be stored and handled by the robot. The generally expensive samples can be utilized to the maximum and milled down to a very low height.

Marking systems for samples

Sample marking can be done by different systems such as needle, laser or label printers - according to the specifications and wishes of each customer.

Spark stand cleaning for the OES instrument

Together with Spectro/Ametek, HERZOG has developed a spark stand cleaning system that effectively cleans not only the spark electrode but also the spark chamber. This reduces maintenance costs and significantly extends the service life of the OES instrument - a major contribution to increasing the efficiency of the laboratory operations.

Crushing:

The solidified samples are crushed using our HP-CA automatic jaw crusher, for example. A metal detector automatically detects pure metal pieces that could impair the subsequent sample preparation processes. 

Pulverizing and pelletizing:

The pulverizing and pressing of your samples can be carried out, for example, by the combination of our automatic mill HP-MA and the fully automatic laboratory press HP-PA or by the compact automatic HERZOG mill and press HP-MP. The sample is then transported to the analyzers.
